About PSFNC

Public Schools First NC (PSFNC) is a statewide, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization focused solely on supporting pre-K-12 public education issues, through education and engagement. PSFNC collaborates with parents, educators, business and civic leaders, and communities across North Carolina to advocate for public schools in NC, highlight critical issues such as budget cuts, and educate voters on how to best support teachers and students in NC.

Designing for Impact

A Digital Advocacy Campaign to Inspire Action for NC Public Schools

I started my internship at PSFNC in Fall, 2025 until Spring, 2026 and was able to gain real-world experiences applying learning design and behavior change principles, while make a deeper contribution to NC public education. To get started, I approached the work through the lens of creating a social media-based initiative grounded in accessibility, microlearning, and behavior change strategies to empower audiences to take meaningful action, such as writing to legislators and sharing key facts.
